Hans Wolfgang Kahn was a German-born American painter. He is known for his work that combines Realism and Color Field as well as oil and pastel paint. What set Kahn’s work apart from others was his unique blend of Realism and formal discipline of Color Field painting. In Kahn’s paintings, trees could be a bright orange, grass could be a bright yellow and a horizon could be a pink.
